Mid-Year Review & Check In
Ignite Yoga & Wellness | JUN 1, 2025

A blink of an eye later, we are in June. And since it seems as if this year is flying by rather rapidly, I thought now would be a good time to pause and reflect. Reflection is a tool I have started using more frequently in my life, particularly as a means to check in on where I am versus where I say I want to be or think I am. It has been quite powerful and even sobering at times - I highly recommend it as a regular practice. But enough about that for now…let’s get back to our mid-year review.
For Ignite Yoga and Wellness, 2025 has been a year of exploring new ways to support our students in their search for some relief from the stress of their everyday lives. From hosting multiple week specialty classes focused on self-care to launching our first online course designed to help K-12 educators transform stress into strength and better life balance, we are working hard to meet our students where they are, providing them with a multitude of ways to take better care of themselves. And while we are just getting started with these new supportive initiatives, we are excited by how they have been received so far as well as the impact they have had on those who have experienced them. There’s so much more to come in the balance of this year, so stay tuned!
For me personally, 2025 has been about detoxing my life and pushing myself outside many of my comfort zone. In terms of detoxing, I have been doing a lot of cleaning/clearing out at home (think of it as a combination of decluttering and striving to become more minimalist), reexamining the products I use for personal care (I try to ensure I am using the cleanest products available), reevaluating my morning and evening routines to ensure they still meet my needs/goals, and removing foods from my diet that I know create inflammation. Most of these are a work in progress, but even 6 months in I am feeling the positive impacts of this work – great motivation to keep pressing forward with these things.
When it comes to pushing myself outside my comfort zone, I just finished a yearlong group coaching program** during which I participated in about 50 challenges designed to not only push us in uncomfortable ways, but to also help us take small steps toward better ways of being in a variety of areas of life. It was about taking the turtle approach to change, small steps over time.
As a result of that program I now easily average 8,000 steps each day (before I was barely hitting 5,000), have a new component to my gratitude practice (writing a thank you letter to at least 2 people each month), meditate twice every day, launched an online course, have taken cold showers, wrote a book, took a spontaneous trip, launched meditation recordings on Insight Timer, and so much more. Many of the things I did through this program were areas of my life I was wanting to improve, while others were pleasant surprises (things I didn’t have in mind, but as a result of them I see additional improvements in my life).
I could not have anticipated what would come out of that yearlong program, and I couldn’t be more pleased by the results either. I feel poised and ready to continue this pattern of growth and evolution. My list of goals has increased and I feel able to successfully tackle it in the second half of this year. So stay tuned for more online courses, more meditation recordings on Insight Timer, more content and offerings designed to help you continue on your own curated path of health and wellness.
So far 2025 has been a fun and empowering year, and we are only halfway through. I am excited to see what lies ahead in these next 6 months. I hope you will join us on this amazing journey and joining us in finding better, healthier versions of ourselves in 2025. Namaste.
**If you are interested in learning more about the yearlong coaching program I was a part of, you can check it out here. I am not an affiliate of the program, nor do I gain anything from sharing it with you, but having experienced firsthand how transformative it is, I want others to know about it.
